What Does Magdalene Serenity House Provide?
Residents receive comprehensive, holistic services to meet mental and physical health needs including: counseling, medical and dental care, assistance with application for benefits, job and education readiness, and life skills training. Our program works in partnership with community resources to deliver evidence-based interventions aimed towards healing and empowerment.
Phase One (4-6 months) - Residents focus on recovery and integration into the Magdalene community. Residents are assisted to obtain identification, benefits, and resolve/meet outstanding legal issues (fines, warrants, probation). Activities include equine therapy, individual and group therapy, meditation, yoga, peer support, life skills, exercise, relapse prevention, and poetry. In addition, residents receive all necessary personal items such as clothing and hygiene items.
Phase Two (6-12 months)- Residents continue to engage in program activities and are required to obtain part-time employment. Transportation for all activities and employment are provided by program staff and volunteers.
Phase Three (12-24 months) - Prepares residents to re-assume family roles and reintegrate into the community. Program participation is required in addition to employment. Residents set goals for achieving financial independence and commit to a sober lifestyle.
